Mindful Communication

It has been said that what comes out of your mouth comes into your life. Each of us is in the process of creating circumstances and conditions for ourselves every day, what we might call our own personal realities, our individual life experiences. Our daily life experiences are created through our three reality drivers – our thoughts, our speech, and our actions. This is a fact, not a theory. By embracing this fact, we come to realize that we can have much more control over our day-to-day lives than we may have believed. As one of our three reality drivers, or reality generators, the things we say and how we say them have incredible power. Our words have the power to create or to destroy.

It seems obvious then that learning to master the skills of communication gives us tremendous power to mindfully create more of what we intend, hope for, and dream about in our lives. Equally important, it gives us the power to avoid unintentionally creating circumstances and situations that cause us stress, derail our goals and intentions, damage relationships, and make us depressed and anxious. The value is apparent. Yet most people never take the time to consider this essential life fact, let alone devote time and energy to tapping into this fundamental life skill.
